Videos

Here are our home made videos for every track on the new album:

First Night On Earth – Track 1 – Who Wouldn’t Like

“Who Wouldn’t Like?” is the first song on Real Ones’ upcoming album “First Night on Earth”, out Feb 28, 2011. The video was made by the band, shot with a 360-camera on the roof of the studio in Bergen where the song was recorded.

First Night On Earth – Track 2 – Sister To All (feat. Susanne Sundfør)

This video is directed by David, and shot in the studio with the lovely Susanne Sundfør. This song is our first ever duet!

Sister To All is also released as a single, buy it on iTunes or Platekompaniet.

First Night On Earth – Track 3 – Is There Hope

Filmed with a 360 degree camera in Duper Studio in Bergen. The video is shot in one of the recording rooms known as “The Future Room”, because of its sci-fi-ish synthesizers, organs and lamps. The song was recorded live in studio and produced by Yngve Sætre and Real Ones.

First Night On Earth – Track 4 – Yaya

Yaya was partly written and recorded in Goa, India during Real Ones’ Indian Tour in February 2010. The video is made from the band’s own footage from the tour, and includes a boat trip on the Ganges, a sunset on Chowpatty Beach in Mumbai, a concert at the Calcutta Cricket Club, a recording session in Goa and much more.

First Night On Earth – Track 5 – Do It Anyway

“Do It Anyway” is the fifth track on “First Night on Earth”, and features Indian slide guitar guru and Grammy Nominee Debashish Bhattacharya and his tabla-playing brother Subhasis. The video is filmed with three cameras using time lapse, and shows a weekend in the life of Real Ones: rehearsal in the band’s own studio, driving to the show, and finally performing in ABC Studios in Etne, Norway on Feb 6, 2011.

First Night On Earth – Track 6- Bridges

Song number six on the new album is called “Bridges” and was written late one evening in Goa, India in February 2010. We were recording in a beach house we had rented ahead of our Indian tour.

Several of the songs on “First Night on Earth” were written there. The beach house had an incredibly long reverb, which can be heard in the chorus of this song.

First Night On Earth – Track 7- Evolution

The video for “Evolution” was shot during the recording of the song in Duper Studio in Bergen. We wanted to record the song live, so we invited a bunch of our friends to help us play all the parts. 14 people in total!

First Night On Earth – Track 8- Saskatoon

The future anthem of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan? The eight track on “First Night on Earth” was written by the Chelsom Vogt brothers, about returning to the peaceful Canadian city of Saskatoon after many years. The video is filmed by their Canadian cousin, from the window of his pick-up truck.

First Night On Earth – Track 9 – Endless Night

The 9th and final track on “First Night on Earth” is the 10 minutes and 40 seconds song “Endless Night”, based partly on William Blake’s poem “Auguries of Innocence”. The song was played during a jam session in Duper Studio Bergen, without us being aware that producer Yngve was recording it.
